Why did you call your company 'Translate Digital Marketing'?

Two reasons. 

1. I’m a qualified translator with a background in publishing and communications, so I offer social media marketing, translation and editorial services in English or German. 

2. I ‘translate’ complex digital marketing concepts and jargon for you. Whether you subscribe to my social media channels, newsletter, or invest in a full social media audit or social media strategy – you’ll get bite-sized, easy-to-understand information, which you’ll be able to put into practice straight away.

Can I mix and match your services?

Of course! You may want to start with a social media audit and then explore other options, such as a thorough review and proofread of your website or social media copy.

You may be interested in social media strategy advice and combine this with having your website or social media copy re-written or  translated (into English or German).

Or maybe you’re just looking for individual power hours, i.e. tailored training sessions to suit your business needs (e.g. social media marketing advice).

Why should I hire a qualified translator?

If you want professionally-translated copy that reads well, you will need to hire a qualified translator. (Make sure you know where they qualified!)

Whatever you do, don’t rely on Google Translate or other free online translation tools. Check out these horrors. 😉

I gained a postgraduate diploma in translation from the Chartered Institute of Linguists in 2003 and I’m also a member of the Institute (MCIL). I am completely fluent in both English and German (both at native level), which is rare.

I also offer proofreading services. I often spot mistakes in the original copy, which I’ll be happy to correct for a small fee.

I double-check all translations and will make sure you’re happy with the result.

Is it necessary to hire someone to check and (re)write my web copy?

Studies have shown that clients are much less likely to buy from you if your web presence doesn’t look professional.

Spelling and grammatical mistakes are completely avoidable, so hire a proofreader and copywriter to make sure everything is optimised.

Do I really need a social media consultant or social media manager?

It’s true that you can do it yourself… if you have lots of time and patience.

You need to invest resources in training yourself to do it properly. That includes e.g. creating a social media strategy, testing what works best for your audience, honing your creative and writing skills, regular posting and engagement with followers and potential customers, as well as keeping up to date with the latest social media trends and tactics.

I’m an Affiliate Professional of the Chartered Institute of Marketing as well as a member of a social media managers’ network. I also continue to take courses in all aspects of social media marketing, including advertising.

Trust me, it’s much easier to hire someone experienced who is happy to free up valuable time for you, which you then can invest in other areas of your business.
