Hi, I’m Claudia, a qualified translator and bilingual SEO content writer/copywriter. I offer writing, social media marketing and translation services in English and/or German. Do you run an ethical or sustainable business in the UK and the EU? Then we may be a great fit! 🌱

How do you define "ethical" and "sustainable"?
Good question. I don’t expect companies I work with to be 1oo% perfect (who is?). However, I’m no fan of greenwashing tactics, deceptive/dark patterns and other unethical marketing and sales strategies.
Previous clients’ products have included e.g. fairly traded homeware, cotton-free greeting cards, industrially compostable & cotton-free hair towels, and wallpaper using non-toxic inks & FSC-certified paper. I’m also happy to work with like-minded freelancers.
I’m carbon literate, and I’m also a member of the ethical move, a network of marketers and freelancers who want to avoid manipulative marketing tactics.

Why should I hire a qualified translator?
If you want professionally-translated copy that reads well, you will need to hire a qualified translator. (Make sure you know where they qualified!)
Whatever you do, don’t rely on Google Translate or other free online translation tools. Check out these horrors. 😉
I gained postgraduate diplomas in translation from the Chartered Institute of Linguists in 2003 (English to German) and in 2022 (German to English). That’s why you can rely on me being completely fluent in both English and German at native level.
I double-check all translations and will make sure you’re happy with the result.
Is it necessary to hire someone to (re)write my web copy?
Studies have shown that clients are much less likely to buy from you if your website or social media copy doesn’t look professional or is poorly written.

Do I really need a social media consultant?
It’s true that you can do it yourself… if you have lots of time and patience.
You need to invest resources in training yourself to do it properly. That includes honing your writing skills, as well as keeping up to date with social media trends.
I’m an Affiliate Professional of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and have taken trusted social media marketing courses. I also continue to invest time and resources into learning more.
Trust me, it’s much easier to hire someone experienced who is happy to free up valuable time for you, which you then can invest in other areas of your business.
